As a part of the psychiatric social workers' Master's program, I like working with cancer patients and hence was able to learn a lot from my internship stint at Sanjeevani. The organization is involved in offering different types of therapy such as Yoga therapy, Colours therapy, Occupation therapy, Art Based therapy and Counselling therapy. I found the staff to be extremely supportive. Working in collaboration with the GCRI (Gujarat Cancer & Research Institute), it was my pleasure to work with the Sanjeevani staff to carry out counselling for a number of OPD patients. Apart from giving free treatment and celebrating festivals to uplift the patients' mental health, I admire the fact that SLBC is home to a vast amount of data regarding the recovery of patients. I highly appreciate their work involving family counselling. I learned a lot from their awareness programs and also would like to thank the team for giving me the opportunity to work with such an amazing institute.
